Synopsis

The Conquest of Mexico. Painted Cover. Art and cover by Bruno Premiani. (HRN 156, with 5/60 date). The Spanish discovered Mexico in 1518. It was then a land inhabited by different tribes of Indians. The most powerful were the Aztecs. In 1519, a Spaniard, Hernando Cortez, set out to conquer Mexico. One of the soldiers who went with him was Bernal Diaz del Castillo. This is Castillo's own story of the bloody battle for Mexico.
